In Color choice, Photoshoots

OK, not really – just part of the theme for a recent shoot with Kris Atendido and the talented Freya:

Now there’s a color I don’t get to use very often! Part of the fun of working on conceptual shoots is that the makeup is often meant to be more dramatic and/or less “wearable.” If you like wearing bold colors on your eyes and you’re NOT wearing a ruffle of newspaper around your neck with sculpted hair, try a softer wash on the lid or in the crease, blended out gently so that color doesn’t go all the way to the eyebrow. Or try my favorite color standby: a bright pop of eyeliner!

I think all kinds of colors can suit all kinds of people once they find the right texture, intensity, shape, and undertone – and it’s really fun to experiment!
